Brownsea
Tenderfoot to First Class Skills Program
The Tomahawk Brownsea program is named after Brownsea Island, the camp run in 1907 by Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Scouting. While Brownsea Island was the foundation of the Scouting Movement, the Brownsea Program at Tomahawk provides first-year Scouts with the foundation of their scouting skills.
- Scouts participate in the Brownsea program for two hours each day. The sessions are lead by Tomahawk staff members.
- The rank levels of Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class are all offered through the Brownsea Program.
- Scouts participating in Brownsea will also have plenty of time to earn merit badges and participate in their troop-scheduled programs and camp-wide activities.
