Details:
-
Capacity: Each week, we can have 8 people join in on the program. The boat captain does not count towards this 8-person limit, so an ideal crew would be 2 adults and 6 youth from the same unit. You can also request spots for a half crew of 3 scouts and 1 adult and be paired with another half crew.
-
Price: The price for the entire week is $700 for both youth and adults. $50/person is due as a deposit at the time of registration. The $700 takes the place of the Tomahawk summer camp fee. It is not in addition to the Tomahawk fee. The deposit is fully refundable or transferrable to summer camp Tomahawk Scout Camp for those who are not placed into the program.
-
Food: Food on the ship is not included, and troops will need to purchase it on their way to Bayfield from camp. We will share an example menu with food that will pack and cook well while sailing. We recommend stopping in Hayward to pick up food, as there are very few cities on the way up. Camp will provide you ice and a cooler.
-
Dates: This program is offered every week Tomahawk Scout Camp is running. You will select your preferred week when registering, but we also ask if you are available for any other weeks so you only need to register once.
-
Transportation from Camp to Bayfield: Troop must provide their own transportation to Bayfield and back.
-
Adult Leader Requirements: 2 Registered adult leaders must be with your group and will be recognized by the coast guard as "Crew". (adults being recognized by crew keeps costs to troops down and allows more people on the boat).
Registration
- Select a half crew or a whole crew
- If you’re not able to fill a full crew, no problem! You can sign up for a half crew, which includes 1 adult and 3 youth. We’ll pair your group with another unit that also registers for a half crew, so you can still enjoy the full experience. (If another half crew does not register for the same week you may not be able to attend your preferred week.)
- This program has a very limited capacity, and as such we will start the sign up process with a Program Request Period.
- This Program Request Period will run from November 1st to December 31st.
- There is a $200 deposit per half crew (4 people) and a $400 deposit per full crew (8 people). If you are not awarded a spot your deposit will be refunded or forwarded to summer camp.
- You do not need to enter names during the program request period, but you will need to designate the gender of the participants.
- In January, if we have more sign-ups for a week than spots in a week, we will randomly select groups to fill the space. Placement will be confirmed by January 15th.
