Aquatics
Each sub-camp has an established beach, staffed and run by BSA Lifeguards. Scouts can learn and develop a variety of aquatics skills, including canoeing, rowing, sailing, kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, and lifesaving.
- A variety of Aquatics-related merit badges are offered, and are taught by highly-skilled Aquatics staff—including many Eagle-required merit badges, such as Lifesaving and Swimming.
- Open swims and open boating happen frequently throughout the day, and each beach also offers specific programs.
- Troops can sign up to enter the water polo tournaments, or for the sauna in the evening.
- The BSA swim test done at check-in or prior to arrival will establish your swimming skills, and open the door to new challenges and adventure.
- Leaders and scouts can take Safe Swim Defense, Safety Afloat, or earn BSA Lifeguard at the Aquatics area, which will allow you to plan and support your unit’s future aquatics adventures.
- Sioux, White Pine, and Chippewa each also have a large sailboat, available for troop sailing outings.
- Further adventures also exist, involving day-long kayaking or canoeing trips around the lake.
