1955 - Dale Martin

 

     Dale Martin began working at Tomahawk in 1955, as a member of the commissary staff at the main Dining Lodge, which is now the Chippewa Dining Hall.  He worked until 1959, serving as the Head of the Commissary and Store Staff during this last two summers.  He has many wonderful memories from Tomahawk, and took away many important skills and values from his time there.  While at Tomahawk, Dale learned about responsibility, team effort, the value of hard work, and the value of good friends. After Tomahawk, Dale went to college and was the head of corporate communication for a Fortune 500 company.  He stayed involved with Tomahawk, going up with his son.  While at Tomahawk with his son, Dale began wood carving.  He went on to teach it for 15 years.  He credits Tomahawk with providing him with many of his life values, which have guided his life and his family.  He says that working at Tomahawk was a very great time in his life.
